no more doubt..
How many times have I taken my broken, hurting, exhausted body into the hot room and walked out of there feeling 10,000 times better? Too many times to count, that’s how many. Tonight was no exception. My knee feels better. And I see another yoga class in my future before this race on Saturday.
Thank you Boss. Pain does kill the pain.

I want to add “Don’t sing along loudly to the music playing in your ears.” cuz someone did that during my last race and it was horrible.
I have a huge pet peeve about people who carry their iphones like little mini stereos in races so their music is audible to everyone running around them. ...

Everything I need to know I learned from marathon...
It’s been a wild 18 (or so) weeks of training for this blasted thing.. So here are some of the finer points of my experience. Please note some of these are in jest, so you know.. have a sense of humor.
White is never, EVER a good color on your upper body OR LOWER BODY.. during a run. Socks and hats are the only exceptions.. This usually includes white bras.

How did I get here??
If I look back to 2008, the year I tipped the scale at 290 pounds, it seems a far stretch that I’d ever be staring a marathon in the face. I would not have understood back then the woman I’d be today. And I would not have understood all the hard work and sacrifice and pain it was going to take to get here.
My marathon is sitting ahead of me. The work is done, and I’m ready...

Today was a CRAZY Monday. Most of my Mondays are. But I had a particularly long to-do list today. It started with a 4 miler that honestly, was one of my best runs to date. I just felt sooooo good. If you recall, I got some new Newts last week and this is my second run in them. These are Gravity Racers and they feel like a dream. I plan to run tomorrow and Wednesday...
